The kiddos and I had a great time checking out the Shatto Farms in Osborn, MO (outside of Kansas City) today. It got me thinking about how nice it is to have a local milk production for those who live in this area. Surprisingly their prices were not much higher than the regular milk at the grocery store and the owner of the farm was very funny and interesting. It was great to be able to learn so much about dairy farming and to get some delicious fresh milk.
I think that it is important to recognize that these small farms are a great part of our society and a wonderful way for us to be able to share in the way that our food is processed.
